Introducing FC Bayern Munich

Established in 1900, FC Bayern Munich was founded by gymnastics’ club located in Munich named “MTV 1879”. It was after a congregation from the club to prohibit the members from joining the prestigious German Football Association; that eleven members left the club to form Futball-Club Bayern Munchen. In the team’s first season, it made its way to the semifinals round of the South German Championship. Then in 1910, the franchise became a part of “Kreisliga”, the very first regional league based in Bavaria. It was also during this time that FC Bayern Munich bagged quite a few local trophies and cups. The franchise also won the first Kreisliga title, in its very first season.

During the First World War, all football activities in Germany came to a halt and it wasn’t until 1945 that the club started playing again. Facing quite a few difficulties initially, FC Bayern Munich was relegated in 1955. However, the team regained its position by becoming a member of “Oberliga” in the following year. The football team was able to win the league title in the same year, beating its competitor Fortuna Dusseldorf with a score of 1-0. Currently FC Bayern Munich competes in Bundesliga which is the top tier league in German football.
