The Illusionist

The Magician renowned for his illusions and storytelling started practicing magic when he was just ten years old. In his neighborhood, he was renowned as Davino, the Boy Magician. At the age of twelve, David became the youngest person ever to be admitted into the ‘Society of American Magicians'. By the age of sixteen, the protégé was already teaching a course in magic at the New York University. David got into Fordham University and it was during this time he landed the lead role in Chicago Musical ‘The Magic Man'.

The incredible success of The Magic Man lead the magician to a hosting job on ‘ABC magic special', which proved to be even more rewarding for the artist. David was now performing his magic more than 500 times a year. Crowds were going crazy over him and fans could not help but be overwhelmed by the new and innovative stuff that David always had in store for them.

David Copperfield is the first living illusionist to have receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has also been knighted by the French government. United States Library of Congress has awarded him with the title of a ‘Living Legend'. David has also been given the titles ‘Magician of the Century' and the ‘Magician of the Millennium' titles. Six different countries have David Copperfield's face on their stamps, which makes him the only living magician to have received this honor.

David Copperfield has sold more tickets than any other solo entertainer ever, much more than Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. His records include eleven Guinness World records. David has also won 21 Grammy Awards out of a total of 38 nominations. A highly successful career spanning over thirty years has earned him enough fame and money to buy eleven islands in the Bahamas. The Other Side of the Magician

David Copperfield is as successful a businessman and philanthropist as he is a magician. The supremely talented artist actually owns the ‘International Museum and Library of the Conjuring Arts'. It contains the largest collection of historically significant magic books, artifacts and memorabilia. There are at least 80,000 magic memorabilia including Robert-Houdin's automa, Houdini's Water Torture Cabinet, his Metamorphosis Trunk and Orson Welle's Buzz Saw illusion. The museum is not open to public visits, rather exclusive to friends, colleagues and serious collectors.

David Copperfield also establishes a charity project titled "Project Magic'. It is a rehabilitation program which uses sleight-of-hand magic as a curing method for patients with disabilities to regain their dexterity skills. American Occupational Therapy Association certified this method of physical therapy, which is now used in more than 1100 hospitals in more than thirty countries around the world.
