The name of Cirque Du Soleil is synonymous with unique and innovative live entertainment. How it started?

Seeking a career in performing arts, the founder of Cirque Du Soleil, Guy Laliberté helped arrange a summer fair in Baie-Saint-Paul along with his friends, Gilles Ste-Croix and Daniel Gauthier. At that time, Ste-Croix and Gauthier were managing a hostel, Le Balcon Vert which was home to some brilliant performing artists. With the support of Quebec government, the three friends formed a talented ensemble of performing artists that toured Quebec in 1980. In 1983, however, this performing troupe became part of the Le Grand Tour du Cirque du Soleil.
