Tyler Perry:

Tyler Perry is an American actor, producer, director, playwright, author, screenwriter and song writer. He rose to prominence during the late 1990’s and early 2000’s for writing and producing numerous successful stage plays. Perry’s greatest success was to create and portray the character of Madea, a large, thuggishly tough and over reactive elderly woman. The famous character was portrayed numerous times on screen and on stage, becoming one of the most recognizable characters in American entertainment. Perry’s resume also includes creating the hit television series Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, a show which successfully aired for eight seasons on TBS. Following the success of the show, Perry teamed up with Oprah Winfrey and her Oprah Winfrey network to produce the hit television shows, The Haves and the Have Nots and Love They Neighbor. Perry is one of the most prolific entertainers in the industry currently and produces almost three hundred live shows each year which are attended weekly by around 35000 people on average. His latest offering, Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned is continuing Perry’s long tradition of producing his trademark, light hearted loveable plays which his fans have come to adore.

The musical revolves around Anita Lincoln, a successful, single, modern day woman living a pretty good life. She has everything she could ask for and her responsibilities include taking care of her Grandma Hattie and younger sister Mona. We find out that Mona has found true love and is going to married soon and Anita fully supports her decision, offering to help her financially. Mona’s successful love life however instills a sense of loneliness in Anita’s life, who wants a loving man to fill the void in her life. Sensing her gloominess, Anita’s best friend and colleague Jasmine sets her up with a guy from the internet. Enter Randy, a man who is loving and charming and is ‘supposedly’ perfect in every way. Supposedly being the key word here. What follows is a hilarious roller coaster ride that takes the audience all the way to Las Vegas as Anita unleashes hell on ‘poor’ Randy.
