Beyonce Knowles is one name that does not require any introduction.  An American singer, song writer, actress and businesswoman, she makes a prominent figure in the modern music industry. One of the greatest entertainers alive, she has become one of the most successful artists, who is continuing to delight her fans.

One of the best selling artists of all time, this superstar diva has almost achieved it all. She rose to stardom with her stint in Destiny’s Child (which became one of the best selling girl groups of all time) and took it a step further with her solo career. The multi Grammy Award winning artist is touring again, so if you want to catch her live in concert, buy your Beyonce tickets now.

Destiny’s Child

Beyonce’s career took off when she and childhood friend Kelly Rowland met LaTavia Roberson at an audition for an all girl musical act. They were joined by three other girls and formed the group “Girl’s Tyme”. The act caught the eye of a producer who introduced them to “Star Search”, the biggest musical competition of the time. Despite losing, the girls decided to continue to pursue music as a profession. In 1995, Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s father, became the manager of the group. He removed a member and the group became a five girl act. After trying to get record labels, they finally signed with Columbia Record and changed their name to Destiny’s Child. They released their eponymous debut album in 1998, which became a critical and commercial success. Despite undergoing lineup changes, the band produced five more albums, spawning numerous number one hits and became one of the best selling all-girl-act in history.

Solo Career and Musical Powerhouse

Following her success in Destiny’s Child, Beyonce started work on a solo album as the band took a hiatus. Her debut album, “Dangerously in Love”, was released in 2003. It became a chart topper, and spawned two number one hits, “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy”. Two other songs, “Me, Myself and I” and “Naughty Girl” reached the top five in the music charts. The album has sold almost eleven million copies worldwide and won the singer a then record tying five Grammy Awards.

The rest, as they say is history. Following her debut album, her next albums “B’day” (2006), “I Am... Sasha Fierce” (2008) and “4” (2011) all debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. This made her only the third performer in history to have four consecutive number one albums. Her albums have spawned numerous hit singles including "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”, “Halo", "Beautiful Liar", "Sweet Dreams" and “Love on Top".

Awards and Recognition

Due to the massive success of her solo career, Beyonce has become a worldwide musical powerhouse. She is one of the best selling artists of all time, having sold almost thirteen million albums in America alone, and more than 75 million records worldwide. She has topped lists of best artists of the decade numerous times and was placed third on VH1’s 100 Greatest Women in Music list. She was honored with the “Legend Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts” at the World Music Awards in 2008 and the Billboard Millennium award in 2012. She has won an astounding number of seventeen Grammy Awards and along with Dolly Parton has been the most nominated woman in the Award show’s history. Knowles has been described as "the most important and compelling popular musician of the twenty-first century ... the result, the logical end point, of a century-plus of pop.” by The New Yorker music critic Jody Rosen. That pretty much sums up the impact she has had on the music industry. If you want to catch this superstar perform live on stage then book your Beyonce tickets now.
