Music Journey – A Chronological View

Inclined towards music since their childhood, brothers Scott and Seth Avett jammed and composed music together. Seth worked with the band named Margo while Scott was part of the music group called Nemo. Both of them officially formed collaboration when Nemo disbanded and began experimenting with the acoustic music. The band made their music debut by releasing a self-titled EP in 2000. Their first full length album, Country Was came out in 2002 and received a warm reception from the listeners. It was followed by two moderately successful records, A Carolina Jubilee (2003) and Mignonette (2004).

Their fifth studio album, Emotionalism was released in 2007 and it made its way to Billboard 200. It was followed by even more acclaimed record, I and Love and You in 2009. The Carpenter, released in 2012 became the band’s highest charting album and added to their fame. In addition to commercial success, continuous touring boosted their image. The Avett Brothers latest studio album, Magpie and the Dandelion was released in October 2013 and it turned out to be a top five record on the Billboard 200.

Old Crow Medicine Show found fame by busking around the country and with their rendition of Bob Dylan’s song, Wagon Wheel. Trans: mission marked their official debut which was followed by three moderately successful records. The group’s 2004 album, O.C.M.S topped the US Grass Albums chart. The following record, Big Iron World came out in 2006 and it also proved to be a hit. These successive chartbusters made Old Crow Medicine Show popular in the country and they performed at numerous festivals besides headlining different tours. The band released two more US Grass chart topping records, Tennessee Pusher (2008) and Carry Me Back (2012) and won many awards.
