Touring Festival

Heavy Metal

Gigantour is an adrenaline pumping festival that has been the talk of the town every since it made its debut eight years ago. Over the years, some of the biggest names in the business have performed in this tour to put the event in the company of the most sought after metal festivals on the circuit today.

The Beginning

Gigantour was an effort to bring the best of heavy metal on one stage by Dave Mustaine from Megadeth. He went to work and the inaugural edition of the festival took place in the year 2005. The entire line-up was selected and handpicked by Mustaine himself. The groups that were invited were the ones Mustaine had played with before and enjoyed those stints. The first Gigantour received quite a positive feedback from everyone and thousands of fans from across the country came to be a part of it. The touring event was held in two parts and it received a rousing reception from everyone who had spent their hard earned money to buy Gigantour tickets in order to be a part of that monumental occasion. Gigantour travelled to multiple cities not only in the US but also Canada as well to massive acclaim.

Subsequent Events

Owing to the overwhelming response that its predecessor got, the second installment of the festival was held next year as another North American tour. It then travelled out of the continent for the first time for three concerts in Australia. 2008 once again saw the event travel to places around North America and Australia. It then expanded its wings to make its way to the United Kingdom for the first time ever. A four year hiatus followed before it made its much awaited return in 2012 with performances in the United States as well as across the border in Canada. The latest edition, to be held in 2013, promises to be an even more epic occasion that will once again see a collection of metal heavy hitters perform live for fans in North America.

Performances at Gigantour 2013

Megadeth have been a part of the Gigantour from day one. Apart from them, the likes of Arch Enemy, Overkill, Opeth, Into Eternity, Lamb of God, Sanctity, The SmashUp, Soulfly, Caliban, Static-X, DevilDriver, Lacuna Coil, Bring Me the Horizon, Evile, Job for A Cowboy, High on Fire, Children of Bodom, In Flames,  Volbeat and Motorhead have always been a part of this hard hitting festival over the years. The Gigantour 2013 will feature Megadeth once again who will be joined by Death Division, Hellyeah, Newsted, Black Label Society and Device. This is going to be one heck of entertaining event, so join in the festivities and enjoy metal at its best.
