Beginning and Alexisonfire
Fascinated by music since his childhood, Green had mastered the art of playing the guitar by the time he was eight. He began composing songs after fourteen and adapted himself to different genres. Besides guitar, he polished his skills of songwriting and wrote various songs that he would use in the later years of his career. He channeled his talents by joining the Canadian band, Alexisonfire in 2001. Green’s years long experience added guitar-driven sound to the band’s music and he earned widespread commercial and critical acclaim.
The group released their first self-titled album in 2002 that went Gold in Canada. The next album, Watch Out! came out in 2004 and made it to 6th position on the Canadian Albums Chart and was certified as Platinum. The following album, Crisis topped the music charts in Canada and went Platinum. Their 2009 record, Old Crows / Young Cardinals proved to be an international success. Throughout their career, the band won many awards including a Juno and established itself among the most successful music groups of the country.
Debut Record and Success
Dallas Green embarked on a solo career in 2005 under the cover name of City and Colour, while he remained a key member of the Alexisonfire. Combining bits of good songwriting, sound musical arrangements and his trained vocals, City and Colour released his first solo album, Sometimes in November 2005. Most of the songs from the album reflected his personal experiences and got positive reviews from the music critics. The record didn’t hit the charts but went Platinum in Canada.
The following album, Bring Me Your Love was released in February 2008. The album featured a lot of instruments that were not played in Green’s previous record and was deeply influenced by folk. Due to its strong musicality and soulfulness, it was well received by the listeners as well as the critics. The album peaked at 3rd on the Canadian Albums Chart and also hit many music charts in the US. City and Colour embarked on his first American tour to celebrate the success of his album. City and Colour tickets witnessed mounting sales and he successfully sold out his shows in the US.
Dallas Green released his third studio album, Little Hell in June 2011 that topped the music charts in Canada. It was also certified as Platinum. Hitting the music charts in Australia and the US, the record established Green among the internationally popular musicians.
Giving his music a new direction, Green came up with his fourth and latest record, The Hurry and the Harm in June 2013. This twelve song set garnered him critical praise as well as an overwhelming response from the fans. Dallas Green is currently touring different cities throughout the world to promote his music.

An active performer since Alexisonfire days, Dallas Green regularly headlines his live shows to multiple destinations under his famous label, City and Colour.
