An Evening with Patti Lupone and Mandy Patinkin will present a unique show where these Broadway singers will be bringing to stage some of the greatest love songs written for the live stage. This is a show that shouldn’t be missed out on by Broadway enthusiasts as Patinkin and Lupone are reuniting on the live stage once again since their show, Evita that ran back in 1978. With approximately 1163 seats, the Eisenhower Theater that has been named after President Dwight D. Eisenhower is promising to hold a series of memorable performances. With an intimate setting, the facility is popular for hosting interactive shows.
Patti LuPone
Born in 1949, Patti Ann LuPone is a popular actress and singer most popular for her performance in the hit musical, Evita. Playing the role of Eva Peron, Patti won a Tony Award from the category “Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical”. Born and raised in Northport, New York, Patti began performing and singing from a very young age. Back in Long Island, Patti used to perform along with her brothers, William and Robert LuPone as the Lupone Trio. After studying under the musical direction of Esther Scott, Patti gained acceptance at the prestigious Julliard School. She became part of the first graduating drama class in 1972.
Right after acquiring a degree in Fine Arts, Patti became a part of The Acting Company. Working with the performing arts company for four years, Patti appeared in several productions including The Time of Your Life, the Cradle will Rock, the Lower Depths, Measure for Measure and the Way of the World, amongst numerous others. Patti was seen making her debut on Broadway with the Three Sisters that ran in 1973. Since then, Patti has appeared in some of Broadway’s most spectacular and critically acclaimed presentations. The singer and actress has been awarded prestigious honors and awards for her roles in the Robber Bridegroom, Les Miserables, the Cradle will Rock, Anything Goes, Sunset Boulevard, Gypsy, Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Women on Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and the Gypsy in my Soul. Winning several best actress and outstanding actress awards, Patti LuPone is one of Broadway’s legendary performers.
Mandy Patinkin
Joined by Mandy Patinkin for the An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin event, the showcase will present not one, but two of Broadway’s celebrated singers. Born in 1952, Mandel Bruce Patinkin, more popularly known as Many Patinkin, is a famous tenor and actor. Well known for his role of Inigo Montoya in the feature film the Princess Bride, Patinkin has provided his voice and acting skills in several popular motion pictures and television shows. These include Yenti, Alien Nation, Dead like Me, Dick Tracy, Criminal Minds, Homeland and Chicago Hope. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mandy also attended the Julliard School of Music where he studied alongside actor, Kelsey Grammer. Making his Broadway debut alongside Patti LuPone in the musical, Evita, Mandy won the Tony Award from the category of “Best Performance by a Feature Actor in a Musical” in 1979. In 1984, he again became part of an award winning musical named Sunday in the Park with George. Popular theatricals in which the actor has performed include the Secret Garden, Falsettos, the Wild Party, Celebrating Sondheim, Hamlet, the Shadow Park, the Tempest and the winter’s Tale. For his works, Mandy has received several Golden Globe Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards and Tony Awards for “Outstanding Guest Actor” and “Outstanding Lead Actor”, in a musical.
