Costa Mesa’s Men & Mice

Hailing from Costa Mesa, Of Men & Mice was formed as a heavy metal band, something that remains intact to the band’s roots despite the diversions that it has taken over the years. The band came into existence in 2009, formed by Austin Carlile with Jaxin Hall. The title of the band was inspired by a novel written by John Steinback, which goes by the same name. The band started off by recording two video for their songs Second & Sebring and Those in Glass Houses. In 2010, the band released its debut record. Following that, they embarked on several tours with other metal bands. That same year, they also participated in the Warped Tour 2010.

In early 2011, Of Mice & Men started working on their sophomore album. “The Flood” was released later that year to critical acclaim. It debuted at the US Heat chart.

‘Restoring Force’ & an ‘American Dream’

Through their Facebook page, the band announced in late 2012 that they have started working on a brand new album. “Restoring Force” was rumored to have a sound that the fans weren’t expecting of the band. When it hit the market a year later, it came out as its rebirth. Over the years the band has gone through several hardships, which also include the frequent changes in lineup. Several other major blows struck the band during these last couple of years. Keeping that in mind, when asked about the upcoming album, frontman Carlile said, “What happens after “The Flood”? Disaster? You come back to normal, and you find balance once again. That is exactly what we feel about this upcoming album”. With its unique sound, the album received critical acclaim. Living the dream, the band is now embarking on its “The American Dream Tour” and will be joined by Bring Me The Horizon.

Counting Blessings – Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon, another critically acclaimed English heavy metal band was formed in 2004. Hailing from Yorkshire, the band hit the music industry with their first EP “This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For”. It took the band only two months to compile this album, which managed to bring them considerable attention from the metal fans. After receiving the Kerrang! Award for “Best British Newcomer”, the band members were all charged up and high in spirit. Following that, they released their debut studio record titled, “Count Your Blessings” to critical acclaim.

‘Farewell to the Prom Queen’ to ‘Sempiternal’

In the summer of 2008, Bring Me That Horizon embarked on I Killed the Prom Queen’s Farewell Tour in Australia, which earned them more recognition. A few months later, the band released its sophomore studio album “Suicide Season”. As it was released in September, the tagline read “September is the Suicide Season”. This album had a darker theme, but a more refined and mature sound. In October 2010, the band came out with yet another album with quite a long name, “There Is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret”. For the first time the band made it to Billboard charts, as the album reached number seventeen on the US 100. The band’s recent album, “Sempiternal” was released in 2013 and in its support it is hitting the road for a series of concerts, many of which within North America will be joined by Of Mice & Men.
