Ghost the Musical is the story of how powerful love can be, even in a supernatural form. The plot takes place in New York City where Sam and Molly are robbed while taking a walk in a dark street near their apartment. Sam is murdered by the attackers. His ghost gets trapped in this world when he learns that Molly is in danger. Now he has to save the woman he loves. He takes help from a phony psychic to communicate with Molly and save her. It is heart-warming how the story turns out which is made even more moving because of beautiful scores.

Manchester and West End

The musical came out for a premier at the Manchester Opera House, England. Starting from March of 2011, the performances lasted for almost three months before it was taken to the West End. Here the previews began from the Piccadilly Theatre with the official opening night performance a little while later. The performance received mixed reviews from critics; with the show's special effects getting the most praise. The musical closed after around 500 performances.

This English import began showing on Broadway in March 2012 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Caissie Levy and Richard Fleeshamn reprised their roles as Molly and Sam on Broadway as well. A few changes were made to the West End production but all for the better. Here again, the musical received mixed reviews but also received three Tony Award nominations nevertheless. The musical closed after 136 performances in August 2012. Announcement has been made for the U.S. national tour for 2013.
