The World’s Toughest Rodeo is making its way to the US Cellular Center located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Presenting some of the most talented cowboys riding bareback on wildly feral bulls, the World’s Toughest Rodeo show presents acts consistent with its name. Known to bring in fans from all over America, the entertainment packed show has performed in Des Moines and Texas, while also making its way to the Nationwide Arena, Xcel Energy Center and the iWireless Center to name a few. This year, the World’s Toughest Rodeo is expected to take all the action to Columbus, Raleigh, Moline, St. Paul, Cedar Rapids, Dayton, Indianapolis, Louisville and Des Moines, amongst numerous others. The US Cellular Center

Located in the downtown region of Cedar Rapids, the US Cellular Center was inaugurated in 1979. Costing a whopping twenty five million dollars to construct, the facility is currently owned by City of Cedar Rapids. Operated by VenuWorks the facility is known for hosting popular basketball events and musical concerts. The multi-purpose facility has also brought forth wrestling matches, commencement ceremonies as well as volleyball tournaments. Currently home to the Cedar Rapids Titans of the IFL, the US Cellular Center has also provided its grounds to teams namely Cedar Rapids River Raiders, the Cedar Rapids Sharpshooters and the Cedar Rapids Silver Bullets. The center has gained popularity since it hosted the WCW Souled Out show in 1997, the WCW Clash of the Champions in 1994 and lastly the WCW Monday Nitro in 1999. The center has also brought forth a concert presenting Lady Antebellum in 2013. The event brought forth a record attendance of 8600 spectators. This time the US Cellular Center is inviting residents of Iowa to come witness a bull riding event like none other.

About the World’s Toughest Rodeo

The World’s Toughest Rodeo show is one of America’s most sought after bull riding competitions/shows. Featuring some of the most skillful riders that present saddle-bronc riding, barrel racing, bull riding and bareback riding the event presents entertainment for audiences of all ages. Two riders from each of these categories, who are given the greatest score, move onto a final round where they go head to head against each other. The riders that take part in these competitions aren’t only males, since females from all over America are known to join the cast as well. 2014’s shows will also bring forth top fancy trip roper and rodeo announcer Anthony Lucia, who will tour with World’s Toughest Rodeo. The forthcoming series of presentations is one of the most action-packed event of America; one that shouldn’t be missed out on.

Cast of World’s Toughest Rodeo

Bull riders for the show include riders from all over Pataskala, West Chester, Dundee, Des Moines, Washington, Hubert, Cherryville, Lucasville, Zearing, Farmland, Koekuk, Fort Dodge, Cambridge, Woodbury and Garden City, including other cities. Some of these bull riders include Aaron Weber, Aaron Keen, Alan Pennington, Cody Sigman, Chris Tejero, Billy Love, Jay Morrow, Jason Tinsman, Freeman Yoder, John Phillips, Larry Holmes, Nick Lica and Zach Peterson. The cast of saddle bronc for the shows constitutes of 26 professionals, while the show has 21 bareback riders and a whopping amount of 125 barrel racers.

The livestock that is a part of the show has been given unique names so that fans that choose their favorite bulls, bareback horses and saddle broncs to cheer for. Some of the bulls that are a part of the show include Blended Whiskey, Booger Lips, Chopper, Crowbar, Droopy, Frosty, Meltdown, Nacho, Rango, John Boy, Rock Steady, Tarzan, Timber, Neon Nightmare, Red Bone and    Slinger. The total livestock that is used in the show rounds up to a figure of 72 bulls, 105 saddle broncs and 135 bareback horses.

  • Each year the show brings forth musical performances by the biggest artists. This year Josh Thompson and Jon Pardi will take the stage.
  • The first show of 2014 brought forth rider Jake Weber as the top participant on day 1, while Dusty Elkinton won the day 2 rounds with a total of 170 points.
  • Each event presents cash prizes for the riders that reach figures of thousands. So far $3200 has been awarded to the first event held in the Wells Fargo Arena, Des Moines.
  • The bulls that were ridden by the winners include Corn Dog ridden by Dusty Elkinton and P39 ridden by Jake Weber.
  • The children at the shows are given free cowboy hats and pony rides before the show starts.
