Team History and Record
Located in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Texas Rangers is a franchise of MLB and plays in Western Division of its American League. It was established as Washington Senators in 1961 as an expansion team for Washington. Later, the original Senators became Minnesota Twins moving to Minnesota and this expansion team moved to Arlington, debuting as Texas Rangers in 1972.
The club has made a total of 6 MLB postseason appearances, won five Division championships and became a Wild Card team in 2012. The team moved forward from the Division Series in 2010 when they defeated Tampa Bay Rays. Their first American League Pennant came with them beating New York Yankees in 6 games. 2010 was their first appearance in the World Series where they lost to San Francisco Giants but the team's performance in the games showed great potential of winning a World Series Title of their own in the near future. This performance in 2010 World Series made Rangers the first team from Texas to win games in World Series. They won another American League championship the following year but lost to St. Louis Cardinals in 2011 World Series, surviving for seven games.

Before Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, the team used Arlington Stadium, RFK Stadium and Griffith Stadium as its home stadium.
