Football

The South Florida Bulls started to play football not too long ago; in the year 1997. The program began as members of the 1-AA independent and then made its way to the 1-A in the year 2001. It stayed that way for two years only before they made the switch to Conference USA in 2003. The Bulls then went on to compete in the Big East two years later and have now joined the American Athletic Conference.

The Bulls football program has performed admirably over the years. They have compiled an overall record that exceeds .620 winning percentage. Not only that but they have also made it to six bowl games in the postseason, winning four out of those. All of these bowl appearances came in six successive years between 2005 and 2010.

Basketball

Men’s basketball became a part of the USF athletics community for the first time ever in the year 1971. They played their first game against the Stetson University and came out on top by a 74-73 score. The program has since gone on to win one regular season Conference USA title and one conference tournament.  The Bulls have also made it to the NIT on eight occasions and have qualified to take part in the NCAA Tournament thrice.

Men’s Soccer

The South Florida Bulls men’s soccer program has been among the most successful lately. Bulls have gone on to win numerous titles and accolades to cement their place among the most dominant men’s soccer programs in the country today. They have got their hands on the regular season conference title five times, the most recent of which came in the year 2011. Bulls’ soccer teams over the years have also lifted the conference tournament on fourteen occasions. Eighteen seasons have brought their way NCAA Tournament appearances with their best performance being reaching the quarterfinals thrice in 1997, 2008 and 2011.

The South Florida Bulls are getting where they want to be. It has taken them a few years to make an impact but things are looking quite good for them right now. All they need is a little bit of consistency in their play and if they manage to get that aspect right then sky is the limit for this wonderful athletics program.
