San Francisco Giants Tickets

The San Francisco Giants won the World Series in 2012 so big things were expected of them this year. Unfortunately, it hasn't turned out to be like that and they have had a pretty rough time of it. The current campaign has been a letdown for more than one reason. Having said that, knee jerk reactions are to be avoided, after all this is the time that won the biggest prize in the sport last season.  Yes, it will be a long hard way back to the top but the core of the team is good enough to meet the challenge. Their fans will no doubt stick by them. They will buy San Francisco Giants tickets and turn up for games because that is what true supporters do. Like they say, when the “going gets tough, the tough gets going.”

Name: San Francisco Giants

First World Series Title: 1905

First Pennant: 1888

Inception and Early Success

The San Francisco Giants have been a part of the baseball fraternity for well over a century. They were formed in the year 1883. It didn't take them too long to get going and in 1888 Giants won their first pennant. Another one followed next year to put them on the way. They celebrated the arrival of the new century by clinching another pennant in 1904. It was in 1905 that the Giants reached the top of the mountain when they not only defended their pennant but also went all the way to lifting the World Series title.

Continued Success

Four more pennants followed in the next decade before San Francisco Giants once again moved to the top by winning their second World Series in 1921 along with another pennant. They were one of the dominant teams in baseball by now and rammed home the point by repeating the pennant and World Series winning exploits of the past season. 1920's ended after the Giants won two more pennants.

Three pennants and a World Series were won in 1930's before Giants went on to encounter their first barren decade, the 1940's.  The bounced back by capturing two pennants and one World Series in the 50's.

Lean Period and Rise to the top

The San Francisco Giants form went downhill and fast after those heady days of 1954. At least by their standards, the next quite a few years weren't so productive. Four division titles and only two pennants were won between 1955 and 1999. That all changed at the turn of the century. Giants started to regain their lost touch and won two division titles and one pennant in the first four years.  2010 and 2012 turned out to be the two most epic years in the franchise's history. On both occasions, Giants went on to get their hands on all three top prizes, the division title, the pennant and the World Series.

The San Francisco Giants have hit a bit of a brick wall this season but that is not to say they will not get over it. It has been tough road back on top but if there is one team in baseball that knows how to bounce back, it is the Giants. You only have to go as far back as 2011 to see them play out an underwhelming season as defending world champions. Next year, they were once again at the top of the league. Whatever happens, the future is for sure going to be one intriguing ride for everyone associated with the Giants.
