Since its inception, the team has been playing in the National League. They became a part of the league's Eastern Division in 1969. The franchise has played at several ball parks over the years as its home. After their formation, the Phillies began playing home games at the Recreation Park. In 1887, the club switched their home field to the Baker Bowl, where they played for over five decades. The Phillies played at two more stadiums, Connie Mack Stadium and Veterans Stadium, before shifting to Citizen Bank Park in 2004.

Championships

The Phillies have seen a lot of ups and downs throughout the years. The team has had several long periods of loses but have fought its way towards winning two World Series Championships, seven NL Pennants and eleven Division Titles. After the introduction of modern World Series in 1903, it took Phillies seventy-seven years to get their hands on their first World Series Title. During this time, they lost several consecutive seasons but managed to bag three Divisional Titles and two NL Pennants. Since 2007, the team has been performing extremely well, bagging five consecutive Divisional Titles and two NL Pennants. In 2008, the team also captured its second World Series Title after defeating Tampa Bay Rays by a 4 to 1 victory.
