Baseball was the first sport that was played at the university way back in 1860’s. The sport has been relatively successful over the years as well. In baseball, the Wildcats have posted an overall record of .501. They won their first conference title in the sport way back in the year 1928 and then two more in 1930 and 1933. A prolonged drought followed but the Wildcats baseball teams have once again stepped on to the plate in recent past. Since 2009, they have made it to the NCAA tournament five times and are also the current regular season conference champions.

Basketball

The Kansas State Wildcats basketball program sent out its first ever team to the court in the year 1902. The sport has brought a lot of glory to its university over the years. K-State have been crowned regular season basketball champions on eighteen occasions. They have also gone on to lift the conference tournament title nine times. The men’s program is consistently ranked among the best in history.

Wildcats women’s basketball program doesn’t lag too far behind in terms of titles won either. They have won a total of eight regular season conference championships and have clinched the tournament title twice as well. They are ranked among the fifteen most successful women’s basketball programs in NCAA.

Football

The Kansas State Wildcats football program began proceedings for the first time in the year 1896. They have half a dozen conference titles against their name and have also made it to post-season bowl games sixteen times. In football, K-State also have the distinction of producing eleven Consensus All-Americans over the years.

Other Sports

The Kansas State Wildcats have a rich sporting history. They have won multiple conference championships in other sports as well. In cross and country, their men and women teams combined have won a total of sixteen conference titles. The indoor track and field men and women programs have landed four conference crowns. Then there is the women volleyball team with one conference crown against their name.
