The current season gives them another chance to solidify their status as top players and if history is anything to go by, they won’t be letting go of this opportunity this time around either.

The Florida Gators have been a dominant force when it comes to collegiate sports. They have won multiple national titles individually as well as playing as a team in different sports. They are proud of all that they have achieved over the course of their illustrious history and rightly so as well. The Gators will be looking to consolidate their position at the top of the mountain once again. They have always received vociferous support from their fans that buy Florida Gators tickets and pack arenas all around the nation to back their team(s). Football

The Florida Gators association with football dates back to well over a century. The sport became a part of the institution for the first time in the year 1906 and has since gone on to compile an overall record of above .630 percent. Gators have produced thirty one Consensus All-Americans and three Heisman Trophy winners. They have also won eight regular season conference titles and have appeared in a whopping forty postseason bowl games, winning half of them. On top of that, they have also lifted the national championship on three occasions. The football program has been on an upward curve in the last few years as winning two of their three national titles in 2006 and 2008 signifies.

Basketball

The Gators men’s basketball program has been on fire since the turn of the century. They have won a total of six regular season conference titles with five of those triumphs coming from the year 2000 onwards. They have also managed to win three conference tournaments during this time period. To provide the perfect icing on the cake, Gators have also managed to get their hands on two national titles in 2006 and 2007 to put themselves firmly among the most formidable men’s basketball programs on the circuit today.

Baseball

Baseball has also traditionally been one of Gators strong points. The sport joined the university’s athletics program in 1912 and has since gone on to achieve considerable success. They have lifted a dozen regular season conference titles and have six conference tournaments to their name as well. Moreover, Gators baseball teams have made it to the NCAA Tournament twenty nine times. They have also made eight appearances in the College World Series as well.

Track and Field

The Florida Gators men’s and women’s track and field programs have also been very strong over the years. In indoor and outdoor track and field events, they have combined to win six national crowns. As far as conference titles go, that record stands at an impressive twenty two.

The Gators Legacy

The Florida Gators have managed to win thirty one national team titles. The individual national champions haul stands at a whopping two hundred and fifty six. Since the Southeastern Conference was incepted, the Gators have managed to clinch an incredible two hundred and thirteen titles. University of Florida has also managed to produce a total of two hundred and forty nine Olympians to represent one hundred and sixteen countries in summer and winter games combined. The Gators are out in full force once again and with a history as illustrious as theirs, expect a lot of fireworks from them all through this season.
