Football for the Butler Bulldogs began in the year 1887. They have since gone on to compile a more than decent winning record that exceeds .550. To put a record like that on board over such a long period of time is a special achievement. As part of intercollegiate sports fraternity, the Bulldogs have produced sixteen Consensus All Americans. They have also gone on to get their hands on a whopping thirty three conference titles in all. The Bulldogs football program has also seen its teams make it to four postseason bowl games.
Men’s Basketball
The Butler Bulldogs have really come into their own in men’s basketball as well, especially recently. They have won a total of eighteen regular season conference titles. They have also managed to get their hands on the conference tournament crown on another seven occasions. The Bulldogs have made it to the NCAA Tournament twelve times on their way to making the Final Four and runners-up twice each. They have also been crowned pre-tournament Helms Champions twice.
Soccer
The Bulldogs have been quite successful in men and women soccer too. The men have gone on to win the regular season conference title seven times on their way to lifting the conference tournament title at the end of five seasons. They have also made it to the NCAA Tournament six times. The women’s soccer program has shown consistency as well by winning the regular season conference championship four times and the conference tournament once with each of these titles coming their way since 1995.

Women basketball, men and women cross country, men tennis and volleyball have all combined to bring a lot of glory to everyone associated with this historic program.
