The collegiate basketball program from the University of Arkansas is ready to take down several of their rivals such as Tennessee Volunteers, Auburn Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats, Missouri Tigers, Tennessee Lady Vols, LSU Tigers, Alabama Crimson and Vanderbilt Commodores. In 2013 the Arkansas Razorbacks played against LA Lafayette, Samford, Southern Missouri, Rutgers, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU Tigers and Mississippi St. The team won against five teams namely LA Lafayette, Samford, Southern Missouri, Rutgers and Texas A&M. This season the collegiate basketball team is gearing up to bring down more teams. Arkansas Razorbacks tickets are in high demand among basketball fans all over America.

Arkansas Razorbacks’ upcoming games are scheduled to be held at some of the most popular venues in America. Some of these facilities include the Thompson Boling Arena, Bud Walton Arena, University of Kentucky Memorial Coliseum, Pete Maravich Assembly Center and the Mizzou Arena. At these games the Arkansas Razorbacks will be challenging teams at their home stadiums. Witness what will be a series of exciting games that will you to the edge of their seats. The Arkansas Razorbacks, more popularly known as the Hogs will be putting together a great game. A part of the collegiate sports programs that are offered at the University of Arkansas, the team was formed in 1924. Offering a total of ninety sports programs that include football, baseball, basketball, track and field, golf and rugby, including others, the Razorbacks have white and cardinal as their team colors

The Basketball Program from Arkansas

The basketball team Arkansas Razorbacks from the University of Arkansas is known to compete in the National Collegiate Basketball Association’s Division I of the Southeastern Conference. With the Bud Walton Arena as the team’s home stadium, the basketball program’s first game was played in 1924. The coach for the season was Francis Schmidt, who stayed with the team till 1929. Apart from basketball Schmidt also coached the baseball and football clubs.

 Enjoying a successful career since its inception, the Razorbacks under the leadership of Schmidt landed in first place in the Southwest Conference, four out of the six times. During his tenure the team compiled a score of 113-17 with a winning percentage of 0.869. These scores are the highest to date, achieved by a coach of the team. In 1930, Charles Bassett replaced Francis Schmidt, who gathered a score of 62-29. Under him the team finished first in the coach’s first season but didn’t make it above the third place in the remaining years. Bassett was replaced by Glen Rose in 1934. After coaching for eight years, Glen Rose was invited to coach the team again from 1953 till 1966. During his time with the Razorbacks, the team made its way to the NCAA Final Four and the NCAA Regional Games. His all-time score was 325-204.          

Wins, Scores & Achievements

The Arkansas Razorbacks’ current coach is Mike Anderson. He took charge of the post in 2011. And signed a seven year contract. Anderson had previously coached teams like the Missouri Tigers and UAB Blazers. Since his tenure began with the Razorbacks, the team has made overall scores of 18-14 in 2011-12, 19-13 in 2012-13 and has currently set a score of 12-4 in the 2013-14 season. Throughout its career, the Arkansas Razorbacks have bagged countless division, conference and league titles. These include an NCAA Tournament Championship, 6 NCAA Tournament Final Four trophies, 10 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight wins and Sweet Sixteen titles, 8 Conference Tournament Championships and 24 Conference Regular Season Championships. If this wasn’t enough, the team has competed for the Tournament title for a total of 29 times. Players from the team that have made it to the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame include Gordon Carpenter, Marvin Delph, George Kok and Ike Poole.
