MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour

Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage

The famous TV program MythBusters has been a rip roaring success since it made its debut about a decade or so ago. This reality show has been among the most watched programs of its time and a lot of that is down to what it has to offer. Myths have been a part of human civilization for ages now and they have confused a lot of people as well. This wonderful program and now its tour, MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour tests the authenticity of the myths through science. Fans all across the country have bought MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour tickets and now the current season is underway.

The Beginning of Mythbusters

Peter Rees, an Australian producer and writer for Beyond Productions came up with an idea to start a program to test various myths in 2002.  He called the program Tall Tales or True. Rees took the idea to the Discovery Channel to see if they liked it. The channel made a few changes and agreed to broadcast it over three episodes. Visual and special effects specialist Jamie Hyneman was brought on board. Hyneman then went on to ask Adam Savage to join the party and he took Hyneman up on his offer and that is how the MythBusters first started to roll.

Over the next few years the scale of the production and the way experiments were conducted grew enormously. That called for an increase in the staff. People like Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara then joined in on the fun to take the show to an entirely new level.

The MythBusters Legacy

MythBusters has been a revelation. Hyneman, Savage and their team have combined to take busting of myths to a whole new level. What initially began as a program over three episodes has now gone on to become a global phenomenon. The show is now aired in various countries around the globe, mostly on the Discovery Channel’s version catering to that nation. Savage and Hyneman have also appeared in shows like the Late Show with David Letterman and Good Morning America to name a few.

The Format and Experiments of the tour

The MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour experiments and format are slightly different from those of the television program since the shows are conducted in front of a live audience. All the experiments are conducted on stage so that everyone in attendance can see what they are up to. The most interesting part of it all is the fact that people from the audience are asked to join them on stage to test any myths that have been bothering them.

The latest MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour is another fabulous live reincarnation of what is an award winning show. Myths will be tested and the results will be conclusive. As the team heads over to different cities across the country, it provides a chance to the audience to see some myths getting busted which is an exciting spectacle.
