The Start

Born in 1989, Taylor developed the passion for country music at an early age. After participating in many local competitions, Taylor won her first at the age of eleven, earning an opportunity to open for Charlie Daniels. At the age of fourteen, Taylor's family relocated to Hendersonville, Tennessee, where Taylor was mentored by eminent musicians like The Warren Brothers, Mac McAnally, Brett Beavers and Troy Verges. She also worked closely with Liz Rose under RCA's artist development program to harness her songwriting skills.

Albums

After signing with the newly formed Big Machine Records label, Taylor released her eponymous debut album in 2006. The album became a major hit in the US, topping the Country charts and reaching number five position on the Billboard 200. Featuring hits like ‘Our Song', ‘Should've Said No', ‘Teardrops On My Guitar', ‘Picture to Burn' and ‘Tim McGraw', the critically acclaimed album went on to sell over thirty nine thousand copies during its first week. The album was certified five times platinum by the RIAA in 2011. Since then, Taylor has released three more number one studio albums, ‘Red', ‘Speak Now' and ‘Fearless', all of which have been certified four times platinum or higher statuses in the US. All three studio albums have charted at number one position on the Billboard 200 chart as well as the US Country Albums chart. Her 2012 album, ‘Red', has also been certified platinum status in New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, UK and Australia.
