Musical Debut and Appearances

Fond of arts since his school days, Groben developed a passion for performing while growing up. His interest led him to study acting but soon he dropped it and went on to pursue what he was made for; singing. One of his first notable stage performances was his duet The Prayer with Celine Dion. After that the doors of wonderful opportunities opened for him and he performed at different platforms with artists like Elton John, Lara Fabian and Sarah Brightman.

 

Groban got his first professional break with the release of his self-titled debut record in November 2001. The album received positive reviews from the critics for its beautiful tracks such as The Prayer and To Where You Are. Peaking at eight on the Billboard 200, the album was certified as four-time Platinum. This radical success marked the start of Groban’s remarkable music journey.

 

International Breakthrough

Pouring his personal references and reflective musicality, Groban came up with his second album Closer in November 2003. Hit singles like You Raise Me Up and Caruso propelled the album to the top of the Billboard charts and also earned him several award nominations. Popular soundtracks like Believe and Remember expanded his repertoire and made him one of the most versatile musicians of the time.

 

Later Groban collaborated with a number of singers and musicians on their albums as well as toured throughout the country. The release of his third studio album, Awake (2006) marked another major shift in his solo music career. Selling more than three million copies worldwide, the album went Double Platinum in the US.

 

He also toured 71 different destinations including Philippines and Australia for a series of live shows. Besides headlining his concerts, Groban performed with the artists and bands like Imogen Heap, Lani Misalucha, Barbara Streisand and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Recent Achievements

His next studio album Illuminations, which came out in November 2010, highlighted his personal experiences in most of the songs and included many hits. After almost three years of his last studio record, the latest album All That Echoes was released in February 2013.
