Jason Aldean - Career at a Glance

Jason Aldean moved to the ‘Music City’, Nashville in the late nineties to pursue his music career. He struggled for a few years to find his place in the industry and even signed some contracts with recording companies that eventually fell apart. Finally, 2005 brought him luck and Bow Town Records signed him for his debut album. Aldean is still working with the same company and has released five studio albums with them. His first number one song was Hicktown that not only reached the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart but also earned him the title of the ‘Top New Male Vocalist’ at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006.  His sophomore album, ‘Relentless’ was loved for songs like Johnny Cash and Laugh Till We Cried and earned him a Platinum certification. This was followed by two more releases, ‘Wide Open’ and ‘My Kinda Party’ that also found immediate success and recognized the artist with two Country Music Association Awards.

Aldean’s Night Train

The reigning ‘Male Vocalist of the Year’, Jason Aldean added another Platinum certified album to his repertoire with his fifth studio release, The Night Train. The album charted at first position on the US Billboard 200 and was received with the opening sales of 409,000 in the first week. It became the 10th bestselling album of 2012 and earned the artist 2014 Grammy Award nomination in the category of ‘Best Country Album’. Night Train features a selection of well chosen songs that reach the shallow depths of hip hop, country, rock and pop music. Hit songs like Night Train, When She Says Baby and The Only Way I Know, earned the album positive reviews. Entertainment Weekly stated that, “While Aldean can pull off his wilder detours, he’s at his best when he hews to traditional themes”. Also, Tammy Ragusa of Country Weekly said, “With Night Train, gone are the days of Jason just doing, ‘what he does best’. Because with these 15 tracks, it’s clear, he can do it all pretty damn good”.

The Night Train Tour

The CMA ‘Entertainer of the Year’ nominee, Aldean is respected as one of the biggest live touring acts in the music industry. He is known for his unbridled and high intensity performances that sell out in minutes and have smashed venue attendance records in the past. The artist in support of his fifth studio album embarked on the Night Train Tour in 2013 and became the first country artist to headline at Fenway Park. The venue was reported to be sold out in seven minutes; that is the shortest time recorded in the history of venues. Aldean continues with his Night Train Tour this year and stated, “The train is moving and it’s moving at a rapid pace”. The Night Train is reviewed to perfectly embody the tone of Aldean’s career.
