Acting Career and Music Debut
Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Demi entered the showbiz by starring in the popular television series, Barney & Friends. Her exceptional talents soon led her to make a name for herself in the business and she further acted in two more series namely Prison Break and As the Bell Rings. In 2008, she made her big screen debut by playing the lead role in the Disney movie, Camp Rock. Her singing captured the attention of many record producers and the same year she signed a recording deal with the Hollywood Records.
Demi Lovato released her debut studio record, Don’t Forget in September 2008. The album featured 10 of her co-written songs which were praised for their catchy pop rock style. It peaked at two on the Billboard 200 chart and was soon certified as Gold. Demi went on her first promotional tour and also opened for many other renowned artists. These concerts gained her a considerable fan following.

The start of 2009 brought more acclaim for the talented artist as her new single, Send It On and the sitcom Sonny with a Chance turned out to be very successful. During the period, Demi skillfully balanced her acting career with her studio recordings. Her second album, Here We Go Again came out in July 2009 and received a positive reception from the critics for its brilliant acoustic work and tuneful arrangement. The album topped the Billboard 200 and also hit several international charts.
She launched her first headlining tour, Demi Lovato: Live in Concert and performed at a number of venues throughout the US. Numerous awards complemented Demi’s fame and she became one of the most successful female singers. In the following year, she added different acting credits besides touring.
The X Factor and Further Fame
After 2010, Demi went through some personal problems as she was diagnosed with the bipolar disorder. That put her acting career to a short hiatus but she soon returned to the studios to record her new album. Unbroken was released in September 2011 and charted at 4th on Billboard 200. With album sales quickly shooting up, it went Gold in the US. Demi was signed as one of the judges and mentors for the second season of The X Factor. This not only boosted her image on the television but also revealed her great artistic sense to the masses.
2013 revived Demi’s acting career with her recurring role on the famous television show, Glee. In May 2013 she came up with her latest studio record, Demi. Double Platinum single, Heart Attack besides many other tracks met with favorable critical reviews. With a positive attitude about her music career, Demi is set to achieve highest levels of professional and artistic excellence in the coming years.
The Neon Lights Tour
