The Beginning
Bryan Adams was born in 1959 in Ontario, Canada. He belongs to a family with a military background. During his teens, Adams quit studies and used his family’s savings to buy a piano. Subsequently, he began performing as part of bands at different clubs. In order to make more money he did small odd jobs as selling pet food and working in stores. While attending the concert of a rock band in Surrey, British Columbia, Adams went up to the group’s producer claiming to be a better singer than the current vocalist of the band. Soon he was auditioned and his talents came to notice. When Adams joined hands with the songwriter Jim Vallance, the two produced and sold their compositions to music artists like Juice Newton and Joe Cocker. One of the duo’s noticeable hits includes the 1979 number ‘Let Me take You Dancing.’

Bryan Adams’s first self-titled record was released in 1980. Comprising popular songs like ‘Wastin’ Time’ and ‘Remember,’ the album was certified Gold in Canada. His second record ‘You Want It You Got It’ produced the radio hit ‘Lonely Nights.’ Although the singer had gained considerable attention by this time, international stardom came his way with ‘Cuts like a Knife,’ his third record. Some of the prominent hits from the collection include the title track and the single ‘This Time.’
