New Beginning and Early Success

Shortly after completing high school, when the young Blake Shelton decided to move to Nashville, little did he know that stardom was awaiting his arrival. After releasing his very first single titled Austin, the aspiring country star shot to the top of country music charts, peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. This was followed by a slew of hit singles and critically acclaimed records. With his handsome looks, heart touching ballads as well as unique and self depreciating humor, Shelton dazed his fans and continues to do so even today.

Debut Album and Number One Hit Parade

After the successful release of his debut single “Austin” with the Giant Records, the label closed down. However, because of that, Shelton landed a contract with Giant’s parenting label, Warner Brothers Record. With this new contract in hand, Shelton started working on his debut studio album, which was decided to be self titled. It hit the market on 31st, June, 2001 and was followed by the release of two singles, All Over Me and Ol’ Red. Latter was to become Shelton’s signature song.

Blake Shelton’s sophomore album titled “The Dreamer”, hit the market in 2003. The successful streak of the artist continued into the new century, as the record’s title song The Baby peaked at number one on the country music charts. The album itself made it to number second spot and was eventually certified Gold. Shelton’s success story continued henceforth, as he kept recording albums and songs. The number one hit songs parade continued as the singer released his fourth and then fifth studio albums.

“Based on a True Story” and the Latest Trek

Blake Shelton’s latest record, “Based on a True Story” hit the market in March, 2013. The album’s lead single, Sure Be Cool If You Did was released beforehand and made it straight to number one spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The album itself debuted at number one on multiple country music album charts. Now, in support of his new album, the artist is embarking on the “Ten Times Crazier Tour”. He will be stopping by several cities and is bringing hot country music acts like Dan + Shay, Neal McCoy and Band Perry along.

Apart from his touring and recording, Blake Shelton is also on the judging panel on “The Voice”, TV reality show. The singing show first aired in 2011 and has become one of the most watched singing competition shows of US today. Shelton has been with the show since the start and for that, he was presented the “Gene Weed Special Achievement Award” at 48th Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony, 2013.
