Start of a Stellar Career

After oving to Nashville with his wife, Alan signed with the newly formed Arista Nashville Records. He came up with his first single ‘Blue Blooded Woman’ in 1989 that made it to the Hot Country Songs chart. The following year, he released his debut studio album ‘Here in the Real World’. The album earned critical appraise and reached number four on the US Top Country Albums chart. It comprised of Top 5 hits, ‘Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow’, ‘Wanted’, ‘Here in the Real World’ and the number one hit ‘I’d Love You All Over Again’. The album was certified two times Platinum in the US as well as Canada.

Albums and Awards

Alan has released a total of seven compilation albums, one live album, sixteen studio albums and sixty singles. Seven of his studio releases have reached number one position on the Billboard 200 chart including ‘Good Time’ (2008), ‘What I Do’ (2004), ‘Drive’ (2002), ‘High Mileage’ (1998) and ‘Everything I Love’ (1996). Six of his albums have reached multi-platinum statuses in the US. His most recent studio album ‘Thirty Miles West’, released in June 2012, reached number one on the Top Country Albums chart and landed at number two spot on the Billboard 200.

Alan has won numerous honors and accolades over the years for his outstanding work. He has received multiple Country Music Association Awards, Academy Of Country Music Awards, American Music Awards and Grammy Awards. In 2002, Alan won his first Grammy for the single ‘Where Were You’ from his album ‘Drive’. Alan has been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame as well as the Grand Ole Opry. In 2010, he earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Alan received a second Grammy Award in 2011 for the collaborative single ‘As She’s Waking Away’ with Zac Brown Band.
