Early Years to The Neville Brothers
Neville’s music journey started in the mid-60s when he started to perform in different local shows. One of his initial songs, Over You, became a hit in the native music scene and encouraged him to further make music. He made his presence felt on the national level when his single Tell It Like It Is reached at two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His first studio record came out in 1965 and proved to be a moderate success.
In 1967, together with his brothers Art, Charles and Cyril Neville, he formed a band called The Neville Brothers. The quartet shared a strong musical bond that steered them towards the unending path of success. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1978 which helped establish their distinctive style.
In the following years, the band released many acclaimed records including some of their bestselling albums like Fiyo on the Bayou and Yellow Moon. Throughout the 80s’ decade Aaron Neville released many solo albums besides recording and performing with his band.
1990s and Career Peak
1n 1991, Aaron Neville came up with his solo album Warm Your Heart that earned him positive reviews from the critics. The duet All My Life, recorded with Linda Ronstadt, won them a Grammy Award. His 1993 album The Grand Tour turned out to be extremely successful and was certified as Platinum in the US and Gold in Canada. In the remaining years of the decade, Neville released one solo record and four albums with his band. His career progressed in the coming years with the release of more successful albums.
New Century, New Ventures
With the start of the new century, Aaron Neville directed his efforts towards his solo career and released Devotion in 2000. The album charted at seven on the US Gospel Chart and won Neville Big Easy Award for the ‘Best Gospel Singer’. It was also nominated for a Grammy. In 2003, his two studio records Believe and nature Boy: The Standards Album hit the shelves and became popular with the listeners. Neville amassed a number of nominations besides collaborating with other musicians.
2004 marked the revival of The Neville Brothers and they released Walkin’ in the Shadow Of Life. In 2005, he released two more solo albums Gospel Roots and Christmas Prayer that cemented his reputation as a soul gospel singer. His latest album, My True Story, came out after almost 6 years since his last studio release and turned out to be a top ten hit on the US R&B Chart.

During his latest tour, Aaron Neville is sharing the stage with The Neville Brothers in most of the shows.
