Young the Giant Band
The upcoming concerts are expected to be held at venues such as the Majestic Ventura Theater, Fox Theater, Hollywood Palladium, Soma, Rialto Theater, Comerica Theater, South Side Ballroom, Austin Music Hall, Jannus Live and Bayou Music Center. The first artist to make its way to the stage is Young the Giant, which is an indie rock band based in Irvine, California. Formed back in 2004 as the Jakes, the initial lineup consisted of members Addam Farmer, Jacob Tilley, Ehson Hashemian, Sameer Gadhia and Kevin Massoudi. The Jakes was formed as an acronym using the first names of the members. The debut EP recorded by the group was released in 2008 and at the time the lineup had undergone several changes. Members that recorded this EP included Jason Burger, Francois Comtois, Eric Cannata, Ehson Hashemian, Sameer Gadhia and Jacob Tilley. The EP was named “Shake My Hand” which the group was seen performing at the South by Southwest held in Austin.
Before signing on with Roadrunner Records in 2009, the Jakes changed their name and became Young the Giant. To date, Young the Giant has released two studio albums namely “Young the Giant” in 2010 and “Mind over Matter” in 2014. The band has also presented two EPs in 2011. Cayucas, the Group
The second band making its way to the live stage will be Cayucas. Established in 2011, Cayucas is an indie pop ensemble with its roots set in Santa Monica, California. Foundations to formation of the ensemble were laid when musician Zach Yudin decided to launch a solo career under the name “Oregon Bike Trails”. However within a years’ time, Zach decided to expand the solo project and invited musicians, Ben Yudin to play bass, Casey Wojtalewicz on drums and Christian Koons playing the guitar. Signing with Secretly Canadian in the same year, Oregon Bike Trails became Cayucas. The debut single released by the band was called “Swimsuit” and was made public in 2012. By 2013, the band had announced that they would be touring with Ra Ra Roit in the first quarter of February. The band’s debut album was released in the same year titled “Bigfoot”.
In the year 2014, Cayucas has once again announced to perform some of its most popular music. They are expected to tour all across America presenting shows in California, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Maryland, Philadelphia, New York, Ontario, British Columbia, Minneapolis, Wisconsin, Ohio and Orlando. Vance Joy, the Australian Singer
The third performer that will be joining Young the Giant and Cayucas is Vance Joy. James Keogh is an Australian songwriter-singer who is known for his stage name Vance Joy. Making his entry in the music industry in 2013, the singer has earned considerable success in a short period of time. Enrolling himself into the Monash Univeristy where he acquired a degree in arts/law, James went onto pursue his true passion in life after graduation.
Currently signed with the Atlantic Records company, the artist has been provided with a five-album deal. The artist released his debut single named “From Afar” in 2013 after which he came up with his debut EP titled “God Loves You When You’re Dancing”. The single, “Riptide” became an international success, peaking on seventh place of the ARIA Singles Chart. Landing on the top of the Triple J Hottest 100 Chart, the song received triple platinum certification by the ARIA.
