The Beginning

Trace Adkins developed interest in music at a very young age when his father taught him to play the guitar. In high school, he was part of a gospel music group and later started playing in honky-tonk bars in Nashville in the early nineties. It was at such a bar that an executive of Capitol Records spotted him playing and signed him to the label.

Trace Adkins released his first single in 1996, ‘There’s a Girl in Texas’ which climbed to the top twenty on the Billboard ‘Hot Country Singles and Tracks’ charts. In the same year Adkins also released his debut album, titled ‘Dreamin’ Out Loud’ which included several chart topping hits and earned Trace much acclaim from fans and critics alike. His albums ‘Big Time’ and ‘More…’ also added to his fan base and popularity, and established Trace as an unavoidable name in the world of country music.
