ARTPOP – Third Studio Release

The third record, ARTPOP by the Queen of Pop Lady Gaga, hit the markets in November of 2013 and once again took the music industry by storm. Remaining true to her image of being one of the most innovative and adventurous pop stars of the day, Gaga brought to her fans yet another record to remember. Described as “a celebration of a poetic musical journey”, ARTPOP explores a specific pop culture phenomenon, “reverse Warholian.” This new album is in contrast to her previous record, “Born This Way”, which was of a deeper and a lot darker theme. However, this new album can be regarded as more immature and freestyle. Perhaps, Gaga wanted to “loosen up” and let her inner party-demon go free.

Lady Gaga, along with her team started working on ARTPOP right after the release of her third studio album in 2011. Within a year, the concept of this upcoming album was defined, as the recording sessions started to coincide with her Born This Way Ball. Around fifty songs were sketched out and worked on to be considered later for inclusion. About the album, Gaga commented that this is going to be her very first real “effort” and will come out as a “phoenix” that rises from the ashes. When she was forced to take a six month break due to her hip surgery, she utilized the time by studying music and literature with Huas of Gaga. Result of it all showed in November, when the album was released to critical and commercial acclaim.

Music – Fashion – Dance – Party!

In support of her third studio release, Lady Gaga has announced her fourth concert tour. The American leg of the tour is going to kick start from Ft. Lauderdale on 4th of May. While still recording her album, Artpop, Gaga arranged a private party in New York by the name of “ArtRave”. On this event, she showcased art pieces as well as sang some of the songs from her upcoming album. Inspired by this concept, later on she decided to create the Artrave: The Artpop Ball Tour.

This tour is going to take her across many cities, which also include the dates in the places where she had to cancel before. In one of her interviews, Gaga discussed the stage setup for her upcoming series of concerts. This time around she desired something different than the old Monster Pit; hence the creative team has decided to design two stages. There will be one main stage and the accompanying one is going to be on the farther end of the venue. Additional catwalk will be included which will go winding around the floor. This way, Gaga will be able to interact with her fans during the performances.
