The Grammy nominated and multi-platinum selling artist Sisqó of Dru Hill fame is ready to set the stage on fire by delivering a free concert performance in the Hollywood Casino's H Lounge at Charles Town Races. Some of the great R&B superstars will also be making their remarkable presence felt in The Show at the Wembley Arena, London in November. The line-up also features Faith Evans, Donell Jones, Ginuwine, and Adina Howard.
Formed in 1992, Dru Hill is a Baltimore based R&B group comprising of Mark Andrews (or Sisqó as we know him), Larry Anthony, Tamir Ruffin and Antwuan Simpson as its band members. Mark Andrews, James Green and Tamir Ruffin initially formed a singing group, however, shortly afterwards, Bravette Fleet and Chris Thomas who were studying at the Baltimore City College with Ruffin and Green, also joined in.
The group began to perform in and around the Baltimore area, appeared in a talent show at the Morgan State University as well as on a television show, Showtime at the Apollo. The talented performers made a name for themselves by securing jobs at a local fudge factory known as The Fudgery. Here, they entertained the customers by singing songs while preparing fudge for them. The group started off with the gospel music but later switched to the R&B genre which prompted Green's mother to pull him out of the group. In 1994, an opera student of the Frederick Douglass High School, Larry "Jazz" Anthony joined the Dru Hill group.
Since its inception, the band has released four studio albums. In November 1996, the group released its self-titled studio album that has landed at number twenty three on the Billboard 200 chart. By shipping over one million records in the US, the album has also received platinum certification by the RIAA. In October 1998, the group members released their second studio album, Enter the Dru that became a number two spot on the Billboard 200 as well as on the R&B Albums chart. With sales of over two million records in the US, the album was certified double-platinum by the RIAA in May 1999. Released in November 2002, Dru World Order is the group's third studio album that contains successful singles such as I Should Be, I Love You and No Doubt. The song, I Should Be, opened at number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart. The single, I Love You, peaked at number twenty seven on the same chart. In July 2010, the group released its fourth studio album, InDRUpendence Day through the Kedar Entertainment Group. The album debuted at number ten on the US R&B Albums chart and at number thirty on the US Billboard 200 chart.
