The venue hosts a myriad of events throughout the year which brings thousands and thousands of locals as well as tourists to this wonderful venue. Every year, a wide range of events are lined up and show cased in this spectacular venue for the entertainment of the locals.
Owned by the Pennsylvania State University, some of the most common visitors of the arena are the varsity students and local alumnus. The state of the art complex hosts dozens of concerts each year which is more than enough for the local party animals and the varsity students. For the local sports enthusiasts, the arena is no less pleasurable. The arena is home to the local basketball stars of both the Penn State Nittany Lions Men's and Women's basketball teams. So whenever the local Lions go head to head against any of the opponents, their fans flock to the venue to see the stars in action.
The Bryce Jordan Center opened in the region of University Park in 1995. With its seating capacity of fifteen thousand for the basketball games, it remains the biggest venue in the regions of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia which mean only one thing and that is the fact this venue remains the host for all mega stars that perform in the region. The venue can accommodate up to six thousand fans for just about any musical concert which is more than its capacity for the basketball games. The state of the art features in the venue make the concerts all the more exciting. The location of the venue plays an important role in making the venue a hot spot for youngsters and the varsity students.
The venue is located just around the corner from the big Beaver Stadium. Some of the other complexes built around the Bryce Jordan Center are the varsity's soccer stadium as well as the baseball stadium of the varsity. The complex is equipped with a giant electronic display tangling atop of the basketball court. There is another score board outside the arena which is also used to advertise several of the functions of the varsity and future games. The venue also plays host to several of the varsity functions.
The first mega events hosted by the venue were the first two rounds of the Women's Division I Basketball Championship. This was followed by the hosting the Basketball Championship of PIAA aka the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association. Some of the other important events for the venue have been KISS, Bob Dylan, Metallica, Shania Twain, Rihanna, Sugerland, Dixie Chicks, Goo Goo Dolls, Cher, Carrie Underwood, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band and many more.
