The Beginning

Ned Skinner and Herman Sarkowski formed Seattle Professional Football Inc., a consortium of local businessmen and influential figures. The idea behind it was to bring football to Seattle. The NFL granted the group an expansion team in the year 1974. The dream had finally turned into a reality. Seattle Seahawks took around eight years to show they have what it takes to make their mark on the league by going all the way to making the playoffs for the first time in 1983. That triumph was followed by a lean patch that lasted a year over a decade before Seahawks once again made their presence felt by clinching their second division championship in the year 1999.

Ruling the Division

That was a start of a very consistent run for the franchise that has lasted to this very day. 2005 saw them get their hands on both the division title and the conference crown.
