The Beginning

Ned Skinner and Herman Sarkowski formed Seattle Professional Football Inc., a consortium of local businessmen and influential figures. The idea behind it was to bring football to Seattle. The NFL granted the group an expansion team in the year 1974. The dream had finally turned into a reality. Seattle Seahawks took around eight years to show they have what it takes to make their mark on the league by going all the way to making the playoffs for the first time in 1983. That trick was repeated next year and in 1987. Seahawks went on to clinch their first division title in 1988. That triumph was followed by a lean patch that lasted a year over a decade before Seahawks once again made their presence felt by clinching their second division championship in the year 1999.

Ruling the Division

Seattle Seahawks are quite unlucky when it comes to Super Bowl but they have an amazing record at divisional level. They won their third division crown in 2004. That was a start of a very consistent run for the franchise that has lasted to this very day. 2005 saw them get their hands on both the division title and the conference crown. Two more division championships came their way by the end of the next two seasons to make it four straight division crowns. Seahawks won their seventh and most recent division title in the year 2010.

Volume 12

The fans of Seattle Seahawks are known as Volume 12 because of the loud noise they make every time their beloved team steps on to the football field. They are extremely passionate and vocal. The Volume 12 brigade is now looking to create a new world record by making the loudest noise ever made in a sports stadium. The current record, 131.76 decibels, was set at a soccer match in Turkey. Breaking it will not be easy but Volume 12 group don't seem too daunted by it and have picked the Seahawks home opener in the upcoming season as the perfect stage to create a new piece of history.
