The Cowboys Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys will now be known as the AT&T Stadium. As part of a multi-million dollar deal the famous arena will be given a new name starting 2013 season. On the field, the team and its fans will be hoping for a change in fortunes as well. The Cowboys have been underperforming for the past few years and this is just about the right time they get back on track.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of NFL's biggest names. They are a team that has gone on to win all that the sport has to offer on more than once occasion to rank among the most legendary football teams in history. Formation and Success
The Dallas Cowboys were incepted in the year 1960 as an expansion franchise. The team didn't get off to a very good start and floundered a bit for the first few years. That all changed in the year 1966 when they went on to win their first major title, the conference championship. That was followed by an even better next season when the Cowboys not only retained their conference title but also added a division championship too. Two more division crowns followed before 1960's came to a close.
 
The Dallas Cowboys started the next decade in style. 1970's was one of the most successful eras in the team's history. During that ten year span they won an astonishing eight division titles and five conference crowns. It was during that time frame that the Cowboys went to the top of the mountain as well by getting their hands on not one but two Super Bowls.
 
1980's weren't that successful but still the team went on to win two division titles and qualified for postseason festivities five times. The arrival of 1990's turned the team's fortune on its head one more time and the Dallas Cowboys once again became NFL's dominant team. During that decade they clinched half a dozen division championships while also making to the playoffs on eight occasions. They also managed to win three conference titles and captured a triple Super Bowl haul as well.
Downturn in Form
The Dallas Cowboys haven't been able to meet those high standards since then. Since the start of this century, they have only managed to win two division crowns and have also made it to the playoffs only four times. That is not to say they are not trying hard enough. A lot of changes have been made to the playing staff and the coaching team to bring those glory days back. There are some positive signs and looks like things are beginning to look up again. The campaign will be a fascinating one for the Cowboys and everyone associated with them. Hang on for a ride full of twists and turns.
Legacy
The Dallas Cowboys have a legacy to be proud of. They might not have done too well recently but all that they did before the drought set in puts them right up there among the most prestigious names in the sport. After all thirty postseason appearances, twenty one division titles, ten conference crowns and an impressive five Super Bowls is nothing to be sniffed at.
