Chicago Fire Tickets

Named after 1871’s Great Chicago Fire, the soccer club Chicago Fire lives up to its name by having some highly spirited players in its roster. Gearing up for the 2014 season, the team is signing new players in MLS SuperDraft’s fourth round and has so far selected Kadeem Dacres, Zach Bolden and Bryan Ciesiulka. Midfielder Yazid Atouba along with the forward Kellen Gulley has been re-signed after having given great performance in the last season. With the regular season schedule out, the Fire will be playing a number of tough matches and will take on Chivas USA at the StubHub Center. The team will also be facing Portland Timbers, New York Red Bulls, DC United and Philadelphia Union, among others.

Chicago Fire – Overview

Based in Bridgeview, Illinois, Chicago Fire made its debut as MLS team in 1997. Men in Red were originally owned by the AEG group and from the very beginning hired notable players. 1998 marked as the team’s inaugural season and what a season it was. With the coach Bob Bradley at the helm, Chicago Fire made it to the second position in the Western Conference, headed into the postseason with ease and finally advanced to the MLS Cup Finals. There the Fire met the league champs DC United, whom it ended up defeating quite convincingly. Doubling the celebrations, Chicago Fire also won the US Open Cup the same year and cemented its place in the league.

Chicago Fire added to its achievements by winning three more US Open Cups and in 2003 also laid hands on the Supporters’ Shield. Other than this the team has clinched minor trophies as well, which includes Brimstone Cup and Carolina Challenge Cup.

Home Arena - Toyota Park

Initially playing its games at the Soldier Field and Cardinal Stadium, Chicago Fire started calling Toyota Park its home in 2006. Equipped with the latest facilities, the stadium has a capacity of 20,000. Due to its stature as a state of the art arena, it has hosted numerous popular events such as World Cup qualifying matches as well as the US Open Cup Final 2006. The latter brought immense joy for the fans as the home team defeated Los Angeles Galaxy in that opening game.

Season Preview

After finishing 2013 at 6th position, Chicago Fire is ready for the upcoming season and in the process of hiring new players. While some have been finalized, others will be tested in the training matches. Currently the team is training hard under the head coach Frank Yallop and is hoping for a stellar start to the season. One of the early matches that the Men in Red will be playing is against Chivas USA, Chicago Fire tickets to which are already in great demand. 2014 schedule also includes away games and it promises to be a thrilling season.
