The Boston University Terriers are looking to stamp their authority on intercollegiate sports in the current season. They have been at the top in multiple sports over the years and that trend looks well on course to continue for some time to come. They have really started to step up in their quest for titles now and by the looks of it, the next few years are going to be quite interesting. Ice Hockey

The Boston University Terriers are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the sport of ice hockey. The history of men’s ice hockey dates back to the year 1918. The program took some time to get going but once it did, the floodgates opened and they opened big time. They made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 1950 but in terms of championships, they got their name in record books for the first time in 1965 by lifting their first regular season conference title.

The Terriers men’s ice hockey program has since gone on to get their hands on a total of fourteen regular season conference titles while winning the conference tournament on another twelve occasions. They have also made it to the NCAA Tournament thirty two times with a whopping twenty one of those resulting with a place in the Frozen Four. To top it all off, the Terriers have also gone on to clinch the NCAA Tournament title on five occasions to solidify their place among the best in the business today.

As far as women’s program goes, the Terries hockey has enjoyed considerable success as well. The program is nowhere near as old as the men’s but still it has gone on to achieve notable success. They have won the conference championships twice in 2011 and repeated the trick in 2013. Their conference tournament count stands at two as well with the triumphs coming their way in 2010 and 2012. The women Terriers have made it to the NCAA Tournament four times and the Frozen Four twice as well.

Soccer

The men and women Boston University Terriers programs have been quite successful in the recent past as well. The men’s soccer team has gone on to make fourteen NCAA Tournament appearances and have won the conference title seven times.  They have also clinched the regular season conference title on eleven occasions on their way to producing seventeen All-Americans and nine Academic All-Americans.

Their women counterparts aren’t too far behind either. They have made it to the NCAA Tournament ten times and have nine America East championships to show for their efforts over the years.

The Boston University Terriers Legacy

The Boston University Terriers have a legacy they can be proud of. They have got their hands on the American East Commissioner’s Cup on eleven occasions. Seven of those have come in the last decade. Numerous conference and national titles have followed since BU was incepted in 1939 and if their recent history is any indication, then more glory is not too far away either.
