Anaheim Ducks won the division title last season and have brought in a lot of new faces to take the next step. They were pretty close to making their way past the playoffs but somehow ended up surrendering the lead to the Red Wings. Ducks decided to do something about that and have brought in new faces like Jakob Silfverberg, Stefan Noesen, Teemu Selanne and Alex Grant on the roster. The team will be looking to learn from the mistakes they made over the course of last season to make this a successful campaign.

Anaheim Ducks have been very busy during the offseason. The management went to work as soon as the last season came to a close to make sure everything is right for the latest campaign. A lot of changes were made to the playing roster to bolster the squad for the challenges that lay ahead. The new recruits will need to learn quickly to ensure Ducks improve on their last season results. These are really interesting times that have had a direct impact on Anaheim Ducks tickets sales as fans gear up to support their team live at arenas around the country.

The Beginning

Anaheim Ducks were incepted as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the year 1993. Ducks took to the ice rink for the first time ever on 8th October, 1993 in a game they lost against Red Wings. Their first win came when they beat the Oilers in only their second game by a 4-3 score. Although they posted a pretty decent record for a team playing its first season in the NHL, it still wasn’t good enough to land them a spot in the playoffs. That remained the case for the next two seasons as well as Ducks failed to join postseason festivities.

Playoff Appearance and Conference Title

That unwanted record was put to bed finally by the end of the 1996-1997 season. Ducks won thirty six, lost thirty three and tied thirteen games to earn a playoff place. Ducks went on to win beat Coyotes in the conference semifinals but were swept off by Red Wings in the next round. Things didn’t go according to the script afterwards and Ducks made just one appearance in the playoffs during the next five years. That changed by the time 2002-2003 campaign rolled in. The team went on to record their best ever season in terms of the number of games won and dominating the playoffs. Red Wings were swept in the quarterfinals while the Stars were beaten 4-2 in the semis. They were up against the Minnesota Wild in the conference finals and thumped them 4-0 to lift their first ever conference title.

The Stanley Cup Comes to Anaheim

The franchise blew a little hot and cold for the next few seasons but things were about to change. The name of the team was changed to Anaheim Ducks in the year 2006 and the season after that turned out to be monumental as well. Ducks posted a 48-20-0 record over the course of the 2006-2007 regular season to win their first division title. Ducks took down Wild, Canucks and Red Wings on their way to lifting the conference championship. Ducks were up against Ottawa Senators in the finals and proceeded to defeat them by four games to one to win the Stanley Cup for the first time.

Post Stanley Cup

Anaheim Ducks didn’t have the best of times after that with only three playoff appearances to show for in the next five years. Things began to fall in place once again during the last season as Ducks went on to get their hands on a second division title. That has given everyone associated with the team renewed hope. Changes have been made and what happens now remains to be seen in what promises to be another fascinating season.
