About the Upcoming Shows
The massive live touring show will be holding auditions and live performances by previous artists at venues throughout America. Audiences can catch the Sing-Off Live at venues namely Turning Stone Casino, the Wilbur Theatre, Count Basie Theatre, American Music Theatre, Bergen Performing Arts Center, Bryce Jordan Center, the Fillmore, Baltimore Soundstage and Golden Nugget, to name a few. The Sing-Off Live show will bring forth a night of a cappella where singer Jewel will be seen joining the judges, Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men and Ben Folds from Ben Folds Live. At the upcoming series of events, audiences can witness their favorite groups and artists singing a cappella live. The ultimate singing competition is brought forth by executive producers Mark Burnett of The Voice, Sam Weisman, Deb Newmyer and Jane Mun. Producers of the show include Sony Pictures Television, Outlaw Entertainment and One Three Media.
A Little about Sing-Off
The Sing-Off Live is an American reality singing show that features a cappella groups. Inaugurating back in 2009, the hit NBC show is currently celebrating its 4th season. Hosted by 98 Degrees boy band member, Nick Lachey, the show presents two permanent judges i.e. Stockman and Folds, with one guest judge that changes each season. Over the 3 years, guest judges who have made their way to the show include Nicole Scherzinger in the debut season and Sara Bareilles judging in the second and third season. The show invites a cappella groups from all over America, Canada and Puerto Rico. Groups are chosen by the judges during the auditions that advance throughout the rounds as per judges decisions and audiences votes.
The Sing-Offs 2009 Season
The group to win the very first season of the Sing-Off Live was Nota. The Puerto Rican a cappella group consists of six members namely Johnny Figueroa, Jose A. Rodriguez, Ludwig Henderson, Edgar Rios, Juan E. Diaz and David Pinto. Formed in 1994, the singers performed songs namely Im Yours by Jason Mraz, Down by Jay Sean, Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees, Various by the Jackson 5, Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel, Lean on Me by Bill Withers and the Tracks of my Tears by the Miracles. The last song helped the group win the title of the competition.
Sing-Offs 2010 Season & Current Activities
The second season of the Sing-Off Live was won by Committed, a six male a cappella group from the area of Huntsville. Singers Therry Thomas, Tommy Gervais, Dennis Baptiste, Maurice, Geston Pierre and Robert Pressley performed songs namely This Love by Maroon 5, Apologize by One Republic, Every Breath You Take by The Police, I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys, Usher Medley and the season winning song, We Are the Champions by the Queen. Runner-up groups of the Sing-Off Live include Beelzebubs and Voices of Lee in 2009, Street Corner Symphony and the Backbeats in 2010 and the Dartmouth Aires and Urban Method in 2011. With the third season being won by the Texas five-member group named Pentatonix in 2011, the Sing-Off Live wasnt renewed for a fourth season in 2012. Fans would be thrilled to know that the Sing-Off Live has been renewed for the fourth season by NBC with auditions inaugurating in February. Witness this seasons winner and runner-ups as the Sing-Off Live embarks on its inaugural tour.
