Rock fans are in for a treat because Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band have announced that they will be setting off on a tour across North America this summer. For the last two decades, Ringo and his crew have been on the road performing in some of the biggest, most famous venues around the world on a consistent basis. The latest road trip will once again take fans on a trip down the memory lane to relive the magic of The Beatles and a whole lot more. It all kicks off on 6th June at the Rama Casino and fans are queuing up to buy Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band tickets already. Ringo Starr: The Early Days
Ringo Starr spent the early years of his music career as part of different groups. Those stints gave him invaluable experience and insight in the world of music. He first shot to prominence when he joined Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, a rock and roll band from his native Liverpool. Ringo was their drummer and the band began to create a lot of headlines by the time early 1960s rolled in.
The Beatles and Solo Career
The Hurricanes became famous in quite a few countries around Europe and it was Ringo Starrs exploits with them as a drummer that brought his way an offer from The Beatles. He accepted and joined the band in 1962. The rest as they say is history. The Beatles went on to become one of the most legendary rock bands of all time.
For the next eight years, Beatlemania kept the whole world mesmerized. They made their debut with the album Please Please Me in the year 1963. It turned out to be an incredible hit which put The Beatles under the spotlight in the UK. Their music was turning heads in the US and beyond and the Beatlemania reached fever pitch in 1964 when they performed on The Ed Sullivan Show.
After selling hundreds and millions of albums worldwide, The Beatles began to break up and Ringo Starr was their third member to go solo in 1970. He came out with immensely successful albums and songs like It Dont Come Easy, Photograph, Youre Sixteen,Back Off Boogaloo, and Ringo.
Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band
In 1989, David Fishof formed Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band. It is a supergroup that has toured extensively since its formation. Ringo leads the group and has somewhat of a revolving cast of artists that go on to tour with it. Ringo Starr performs some tracks from The Beatles and then sings a few from his solo collection. The other performers then take the stage to perform some of their own tracks. The likes of Steve Lukather, Gregg Rolie, Richard page, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Bissonette and Mark Rivera have been frequent members of the touring party when Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band hit the road.
