Lukes Journey towards Stardom
Born in 1976, Thomas Luther Bryan, more popularly known as Luke Bryan is a popular American country singer. Making his debut in the industry in 2004, Luke has released chart-topping hits that have won the songwriter/singer many awards. Before being signed by Capitol Nashville, Luke started off by working in a publishing house. He was a co-writer for the hit title track that was a part of Travis Tritts release, My Honky Tonk History. Impressed by his song writing skills, Luke was approached by Capitol Nashville who offered the upcoming artist a recording contract. Accepting the deal, Luke first completed his work on Billy Curringtons Good Directions, before starting off with his own compositions for his debut single. Good Directions went on to top the Hot Country Songs chart.
Debut Releases & Success
After this Luke Bryan came forth with his debut song that was produced by Jeff Stevens. Titled All My Friends Say, the single was released in 2006 and landed on the fifth place of the Hot Country Songs Chart. With the success of the track, Luke Bryan was seen releasing his debut album Ill Stay Me. Some of the hit singles of the collection include We Rode in Trucks, Country Man and All My Friends Say. Not only did the album reach the second place on the Billboard Country Albums, it also made its way to the top thirty albums on Billboard 200. Receiving gold status in the same year, Ill Stay Me was awarded a three out of five star rating by AllMusic.
Sophomore Album & EPs
After two years of performing, Luke Bryan brought released an EP named Spring Break with All my Friends. The EP consisted of the popular two singles Take My Drunk Ass Home and Sorority Girls. Shortly after this, Luke released his fourth single named Do I. The track reached the second place on the US country songs chart. Luke Bryans sophomore album came out in October 2009. This too was released via Capitol Nashville and presented audiences with chart topping singles such as Someone Else Calling You Baby, Rain Is a Good Thing and Do I. Receiving platinum certification by the RIAA, the album was placed second on the Billboard Top Country Albums and sixth on the the Billboard 200. Apart from original compositions, the record also presented an acoustic cover of One Republics Apologize. Less than a year later, Luke released his sophomore EP named Spring Break 2
Hangover Edition. The EP consisted of three singles namely Cold Beer Drinker, Wild Weekend and Im Hungover.
Luke Bryans third album Tailgates and Tanlines released in 2011. Selling a whopping 2,202,000 record copies, it spent 108 weeks on the US Billboard 200 at number two. The album presented audiences with four songs that were charted amongst the top 5 positions on US Hot Country Songs chart. These songs include Country Girl, I Dont Want This Night to End, Drunk on You and Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye. Awarded a 3.5 out of 5 star rating by AllMusic, the album was a grand success. The artists most recent release Crash My Party came out in 2013. It comprises popular songs as Crash My Party, Thats My King of Night, Drink a Beer and Play It Again.
