The multi Golden Globe Award winning television comedy musical takes place in the fictional high school of William McKinley in the State of Ohio. The creative trio of Ryan Murphy, Ian Brenan and Brad Falchuk first thought of making Glee into a movie but then they all finally settled on making it a television series instead and it became an instant hit. Even though the drama features a storyline that mainly revolves around teenagers and their high school lives, petty fights and every day issues, the show is famous amongst people of all ages. The massive popularity the show enjoys has resulted in many awards won by the truly talented cast members of the show.
There have been a total of thirteen episode aired of the forty to forty five minutes show and the success of the show is already tremendous. The concept of the show is loosely inspired by Ian Brennan's personal experience when he himself was a part of the choir in the Prospect High School. The show premiered on the Fox network right after the telecast of the American Idol finale, which is the biggest success on Fox's credit as of the moment. Interestingly enough, several of the cast members had also auditioned for American Idol but did not make it through like Amber Patrice Riley who now plays the role of Mercedes Jones, a member of the Glee Club. That could have been one of the best failures in the life of Amber Riley who did not become a part of American Idol but rather became a well respected and beloved cast member of one of the most popular shows on television today.
One of the very best things about the show, apart from a stellar script and superb acting, is the wonderfully fresh choreography and beautiful, popular songs which you can't help but sing along each time someone takes up the microphone on the show. Ryan Murphy does a very good job at selecting the songs that compliment the very theme of each episode. Even though the show has its share of 'spontaneous' singing moments which is all very movie like, but as per Ryan Murphy, he tries to avoid that as much as possible in his attempts to keep the show as close to reality as possible. For the most part, his efforts have paid off as the story of the whole show, including some of the most outrageous scenes, is all very believable.
Glee is received well by the critics and has fans going crazy for it all over the place. Glee, as one of the most popular shows on Fox television is sure to blow away its fans once more with the live tour. There is a good chance that the Glee tour would be even more successful then the television series per se as people know exactly how and why live performances are so much better than the recorded ones they play on television. Make sure you get your Glee tickets as soon as possible for they're selling like hot cakes, if you don't buy them quick, they will be gone soon!
