Boulder Tickets In Detail
The historic Boulder has been the home of performing arts for over a century now. The theatre opened in 1906 and has been staging featured opera, musical productions and silent movies. Situated in the City of Boulder, the arena was redesigned by Robert Boller and reopened its doors in 1936. The entertainment center was constructed on the modern lines and an Opera House was added to the existing concert area. The main entrance to the theatre was decorated in the popular art deco style and used Terra Cotta along with colored glass and black glass tiles. To add a dramatic effect to the interiors, huge wall murals were painted in the shades of blue and green along with a western themed mural on the ceiling. The name of the theatre was decided through a local contest, where several people sent their entries. Through a unanimous decision the management decided on the name Boulder.
Though the arena experienced renovation in the 80s, its historic value remained intact. The new builders have preserved the ancient murals on the walls and restored them in their original state. For some time Boulder Theatre remained dedicated to hosting musical events only. It featured diverse acts by the stars of that era which included, Bonnie Raitt, the Plasmatics, Jeff Lorber and Timothy Leary.
In 1995 the theatre reopened under a new management and began operating as an entertainment venue. Apart from staging theatre events and musical concerts, it started hosting non-musical and community events as well. Built as a multi-use facility, Boulder is an ideal place for meetings as well as conferences. The theatre has a capacity of more than 1000 and can be adjusted to meet the needs of the organizers.
