Country And Folk Tickets

Do names like The Byrds, Rosanne Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, John Denver, Bob Dylan,Tom T. Hall, Emmylou Harris, Kathy Mattea, Townes Van Zandt and Steve Wariner ring a bell? If they do then you are definitely at the right place at the right time because they are some of the best country folk gurus the world has ever seen. Their music stays true to its reputation of connecting directly to the soul with its mellow tunes and thoughtful songs. Country Folk is a most stripped down form of traditional music followed by a large number of musicians. Its variety is as diverse as the traditional "murder ballad" by Tom Dooley to a darker attempt of Bob Dylan; "It's Alright Ma, I'm Only Bleeding."

The term of country music was actually coined earlier on to simply describe country music. These were the times of the 1950s, when the Country and western music industry was located in Nashville. It was finally in the 1960s when the term Country Folk was used to describe the hybrid form of music formed with a mix of American folk music with country music. Till the early sixties many country artist were reinterpreting the folk and vice versa. Some of the earliest musicians participating in this evolution include Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Charlie McCoy. The trend that was initiated by Bob Dylan was soon followed by other musicians including Buffy Sainte-Marie, Ian and Sylvia's Nashville, the Byrds, Emmylou Harris and John Denver. Recent musicians who have opted for this music include Kathy Mattea, Rosanne Cash and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Country and Folk both are strong genres of music standing separately with their distinct qualities and charisma. Country music is basically a mix of musical form coming from southern United States and the Appalachian Mountains. This kind of music is deep rooted into Celtic and old time gospel music. Elvis Presley, The Hillbilly Cat of music and Garth Brooks are two of the legendary country music stars. The most common instruments used in country music include the Guitar, Fiddle, Steel Guitar Piano, Dobro, Harmonica, Bass, Drums, Mandolin, Banjo and Vocals.

Folk music, on the other hand, has been originated from the 19th century. As the name suggests, it is one of the most traditional forms of music found on earth. It is more like the musical folklore told in the form of Ballads, Carols, Children's songs, Hornpipe, Jigs, Morris dance, Protest songs, Sea shanties, Traditional music and War songs. Folk music is also one of the widest genres as each region has its own kind of traditional music. The musical instrument just like the music itself varies depending upon the region it comes from. It can be different types of flutes, trumpets, harmonicas, harps, banjos, violins and what not. This kind of music has evolved immensely over the years forming numerous genres like Electric folk, Folk metal, Folk rock, New Age music, Neo folk, Space music, Freak folk and Psychedelic folk.

Country folk music is also an evolution of these two genres creating tunes that are deep and meaningful. It is a hybrid subgenre that enjoys a close connection with the singer and song writer. The stylistic origins of it are at large considered to be Country Gospel, Southern Gospel, Folk Music, Progressive folk and Bluegrass. It became a part of the musical culture somewhere in the 1960s.This kind of music has been ruled with the sounds of electric and acoustic guitars along with echoing pianos in it.

The music is stylistically gentle and mellow with a significant emphasis on the lyrics of the song. The vocals of such songs are low pitched and velvety especially aimed this way to complement the tunes. The past trend of the music indicates that all the stars that were admired in this yonder have actually showcased amazing song writing talent. These lyrics discuss the most complex and thought provoking emotions felt by humans. One of the features that separate country music from country folk is that the lyrics carry intricate thoughts far more complex than the ones employed in country music.

Country folk songs are usually an uninterrupted mix of folk receptivity coupled with a country based instrumentation and sound. Some of the greatest albums ever seen in the history are Greatest Hits, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Buffalo Springfield, Nickel Creek, 16 Biggest Hits, The Essential John Denver, In Spite Of Ourselves, Fair and Square and Deja Vu Live.
